I wish I could believe that Kenney wouldn’t implement vaccine passports but this is the same government which jails pastors and business owners who openly challenged their lockdowns.
Plus which the Feds could simply enact legislation under their emergency powers to override provincial mandates. In other words Trudeau and the Liberals can simply ignore what the provinces want and impose the passports.
People in Canada should be very, very afraid of the leeway that the Emergency Powers Act allows the Feds to do, in essence the Liberals could simply rule by decree(which they’re covertly doing anyways), they can also “temporarily” suspend the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and imprison without trial anyone going against government edicts(Quarantine Hotels are a soft version of this kind of imprisonment). All this is comes from the old War Measures Act which during wartime allows suspension of any and all civil rights for the good of the nation and the Emergency Act is based on the old WM legislation.
France has a much more anti-vax culture then we do and look at the lengths Macron is going to in order to impose vaccinations. I believe Trudeau wouldn’t hesitate to push passports in a second on the thinnest justifications.
If you go to any comment section discussing mandatory vaccinations you’ll be appalled by the number of sheep who not only will go along with whatever the government decrees but will actively pressure those who don’t/won’t allow themselves to be stripped of their rights.
