This thread is to post businesses, especially restaurants, bars and coffee shops which are not requiring masks. Let other members know so we can give these businesses our patronage. This forum is restricted to those who have have signed the petition, so we should have no worries about getting these businesses in any trouble.

I believe the Light Cellar in the North is mask optional and has an elixir coffee bar.

Thank you for starting this forum, and this thread. I will very gladly support these businesses. I haven’t been going out very much, only if I absolutely have to since the mandate. It’s getting pretty tiring.

Oh my goodness, I live right by Richmond’s Pub, I’ve never went but will do now if there are any meet ups there 🙂

I tried to set one up there. Initially the manager was very cooperative and willing to book for 20 people as long as we were only six to a table. I even told him we were the anti-mask, anti-lockdown petition group. Then he must have talked to his boss. 10 minutes later I got a call back cancelling.

Still it’s a good place. My wife and I go there and have never been asked to wear a mask just to walk to our table.

Purple Perk is awesome. They were the only coffee shop in Mission that stayed proper open during April/may. And I’ve never once been asked to wear a mask or anything.

I must give Purple Perk a visit!

Most places around Marda Loop don’t seem to care whether you have a mask or not

Next Door Greek Restaurant On McLeod Tr did not say anything about me not wearing a mask.
Also, when fitness classes were allowed no one in Undrcard boxing studio on 10 Ave said anything about me not wearing a mask

I Like the idea of Posting anti mask friendly business names, however; the risk is this site will be infiltrated by Fascist Calgary Bylaw Goons, who will then Persecute the good people operating friendly businesses.

Good point.  For that reason maybe we should turn this into a list of businesses that are strict about masks.  It will be a much shorter list anyway, and achieves the same goal.

If you are up by Creekside Crossing the “Good Earth” coffee shop is very cool about it.

I really haven’t changed much regarding my shopping, always maskless. Community NF, Shoppers and Safeway in Mission, Salvation Army on 58th, 17th Ave. Thrift, superstore at Southland. No issues. But I don’t walk in expecting any either which makes a difference.

I wanted to let people know that I was kicked out of Costco in November and recently I was told not to come to my appointment at Mission Eye Care because I have a mask exemption. It appears these businesses think it is okay to discriminate against people’s human rights. Also, Starbucks in Bridgeland- 1 Ave NE has a big issue with no masks and exemptions even though I was a regular there for the last 5 years….so I stopped going to that location.

Innisfail: The Coffee Cottage. Won’t say a word if you don’t wear one. Olds: Bean Brokers also won’t say a word. Both are small businesses that offer great products and services. In both towns most of the small businesses won’t say anything.

I’ll be hitting the streets real quick to gather names of small businesses that need us to help stop the lockdowns that are surely coming quick. And we’re going after AHS. Lots of us…

I think most small businesses, even if they have “must wear mask” signs on the door (which they’re probably required to post by AHS) will not say anything if you don’t wear a mask.

In fact it would be a much shorter list for me to post businesses who are strict with masks.  These are places where I’ve had trouble.

      • Delux Burger Bar in St. Albert made me wear a mask for the 2 metre walk to my table.
      • Yellowhead Costco in Edmonton called the manager and made me feel like a criminal for refusing to wear a mask.
      • Nando’s on Gateway Boulevard also made me wear a mask to walk to my table a few feet away.
      • Canadian Tire in Windermere South Edmonton posted a mask nazi by the front door who made me wear a mask.
      • Fatburger in Red Deer refused to take my order until I covered my mouth with a mask.

Staples in Shawnessy – clerk at the print shop counter went to call someone because I didn’t have a mask on when I asked if I could get some laminating done .
Tini Vietnamese Restaurant in Seton is a good place to eat when restrictions don’t close down the sitting in. There are open for take out when the sitting in gets closed down.

Light Celler in Bowness and Wisk in Inglewood are both great. Jordan(wisk) on instagram has been amazing, sharing great information.

I just thought I’d post about my lovely shopping experience at Ranchgate Meats in Sylvan Lake. They were friendly and educated, they have created an information board for people at the front of their store for people so they understand the law and also people with disabilities (seen and unseen).  I can tell they are supporting of their staff that have health challenges and are creating a supportive environment. I’m happy to recommend and support this store because of the time they’ve taken to be educated on safety and laws for their customers and staff but also because they have great product. They sell Yak which is sooo good!

We go to a little coffee shop in Eckville called Stacy’s Happy Place. They are totally against the mask laws and have made AHS mad rite a few times. Great people and coffee!
