Leighton Grey, practicing constitutional lawyer in Alberta, returns to the set to discuss a recent essay he penned as it relates to the current ‘pandemic’ and how it appears to be coming to a close. Though Leighton cautions that now is not the time to rest and recuperate but to forge ahead and reclaim our democratic powers from our overreaching governments across the globe. Listen as he discusses with Will where this country is headed if We the People do not seek certain reforms.

Leighton’s Essay: Vaccine Mandates Reveal Our True Enemy – The State

On the threat to our unique democracy…

There’s a serious question of whether or not [our] elections are democratic in the true sense. Democracy is a hybrid of two Greek words: Demos meaning People, Kratos meaning Rule. Americans translated this into rule by the people for the people. Arguably, that is not happening at the moment. Part of the reason why Canadians are not aware of this is because by and large, we had a pretty good government in Canada. Also, unlike the United States, our nation is not founded in revolution. We don’t have a foundational instinctive distrust of government which comes from a country, a nation being founded in revolution, where they were trying to escape an oppressive king. In Canada, our country is not founded that way.

On the lack of integrity of our elections…

The best evidence is that our democracy is breaking down is that our current Prime Minister has been elected three times in the last six years. The last two times, the majority of the popular vote did not favor him, that’s two successive minority governments. He’s been a minority government since October, 2019. We haven’t had a single non-confidence vote, which is almost inconceivable and based upon data from our most recent unnecessary and wasteful election, which in and of itself is a good argument for our state being the enemy, wasted $700-800 million of taxpayers’ money in the midst of a pandemic based upon data collected from that last election, our current Prime Minister our current government gained only 32% of the pocket of gold, right? So that’s not really consistent with democracy. In fact, it shows that we have some very serious issues with democracy in our country that need to be remedied.

On the theft of power from the people to the state…

First, we’ve got the tyrants manipulating governments to get these useful idiots into office who can be controlled. Second, we’ve got that attack upon the middle-class to take away their ability to do anything. And this is what the lockdowns are for, destroying businesses and destroying jobs. Destroy people’s income, make them lose their homes, lose their savings, so that now they joined the poor and can be controlled. And third, and perhaps most worrisome is we’ve got this vaccine mandate, which in this case is being used to identify the undesirables so that we can be dealt with and taken out of the equation, [giving them] absolute control.

On why it’s not over yet even if the “pandemic” is…

If we accept the end of the pandemic and we exhale and we say this is great. The winter’s over, I can go outside and I don’t have to wear a mask anymore. If we stop there, we will be making a grave mistake. We will be doing precisely what the rulers want us to do. It’s going to be a prelude to a kiss and the kiss is going to be the next emergency. And I talk about this in the paper, how faux emergencies are used as an excuse for expansive state power.
