Vlad lived in the Soviet Union in Kazakhstan as a child and came to Canada in his early twenties. Vlad was able to recognize the signs of communism here in Canada so he has been working hard to educate all Canadians since April of 2020. Vlad arrived in Ottawa ahead of the Truckers Convoy and chose to remain after the Convoy was dismantled by law enforcement. He continues to hold rallies outside the “Red Zone” in an effort to continue to educate and empower those still there. Vlad also shares with us his experiences at the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa.

On why the government is not your friend…

Canadians don’t just think that the government is their friend, Canadians think the government is their best friend and that’s how blindsided they are at this point. A lot of people are facing a hard reality that the government is actually out there to hurt you. That’s a really hard space to be, so I have compassion for people. Even my taxi driver yesterday was from Lebanon so I have this conversation with people that I know they are coming from tyrannical regimes and if you ask those people, “Do you think the government is your friend?” They will never say yes.

On the insidious nature of tyranny…

The thing is, tyranny never happens overnight, it’s always a slippery slope. And the analogy that we use from the beginning, it’s like cooking a live frog. When you want to cook a frog, you put a live frog in a cold pot of water and you slowly increase the temperature, where the frog never jumps out and basically cooks to death. Society, especially the Western world has been conditioned to be comfortable. Everything in our society is based on seeking comfort in every area of your life. If you think about this, the only thing that happens in the comfort zone is you become stupid, lazy and weak.
