Warrant Officer James Topp, a 28-year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces who set out in February of this year to march from BC to Ottawa in protest of the covid mandates that are being imposed on many Canadians. James shares his view on the success of his long-anticipated meeting with MPs and what he hopes to achieve for all Canadians’ freedoms. 

On the MP’s who committed to meet with James in Ottawa …

There’s actually 338 members of parliament, I believe just over 90 sitting Senators, we had invited all of them to this meeting. 23 showed up. Yes, 23 of them showed up. We had worked with one of the MPs, secured a venue, and the intent was to have it recorded and livestream because this is what the Canadian people need to see. They need to see that they can have an impact on government policy and meet with their members of parliament.

On who Marched Alongside James…

Several of the MPs and other politicians, high profile politicians did march, absolutely. Roman Baber was one of the first ones to express interest in what I was doing and he wanted to march. There was a little get together in Sudbury that he was also there for on the day of the March on June 30th. Pierre Poilievre showed up to march briefly. Derek Sloan also showed up to march briefly and Max Bernier was there as well…actually went the whole distance, Maxime…
