Ontario Party week concludes with Vincent Gircys, an OPP veteran with 32 years of service, a member of Police4Freedom, and the Ontario Party candidate for Niagara Center. Vincent gives his thoughts on the lack of accountability in our current provincial and federal governments, returning power to the people, and how we fix the underlying societal problems that have led us to this point.

On Ontario Party’s views on Canadian culture…

We seem to have really lost independence within media and we see nothing but narrative. And they’re not necessarily good for society, but once culture starts to shift and we’ve seen shifts in culture as a result of this pandemic it’s very dangerous because downstream from that, when we see a cultural shift, we’ve seen it leads to the loss of individual sovereignty. And that is absolutely sacred to the platform of the Ontario Party, individual rights and sovereignty…when you look at what’s happened over the last two years, just sit back and look at how our society has behaved, how our culture has shifted.

So, you have to look at what is sacred within your nation and how highly you value that, because if culturally we no longer value individual rights, then we are going down a very dangerous path…what was your science compared to what was my science? The Charter is very clear and is very specific about individual rights. The rights that we have…our Constitution and our Charter Rights were not designed for the masses. They were designed for the individual and these individual rights is what makes us the great nation that we are.

On Individual Rights versus the ‘Morally Justified’ ….

Some of our government agencies seem to have a hard time navigating themselves…but that’s not a laughing matter. We really need to increase efficiencies and accountabilities within our government agencies. And, back on this issue of individual sovereignty…inalienable rights…will all be lost once a majority of people within our society feel morally justified. And that is a danger that we need to closely monitor…because there are many elements to society.
