Mascha is a representative of We For Humanity, an international group of holocaust survivors and their descendants formed to stand for humanity on a global scale. During this interview we discuss what parallels she observes with discrimination against our fellow humans, the suffering of people and what the legacy media continues to perpetuate about covid19.
On Mascha’s perspective and the parallels to the present…
Mascha grew up under Soviet rule in the Ukraine, a very familiar totalitarian rule. What we are experiencing is not new to myself and the people like myself. The modus operandi is all the same: a totalitarian regime needs some enemy. There were Jews 80 years ago and today we have got another enemy. This is always about splitting the society in two parts. Good one and bad one. It is all the same about making people afraid of something to condition them, to make them obey.
Condition compliance of obedience; the totalitarian regime was about de-humanizing the people…they’re supposed to be a part of the society…they’re expected to sacrifice themselves. You see exactly the same motivation which they use today to make people accept this injection. Do not for yourself, do it for Society.
On how history is repeating past dark moments in time…
Under that Soviet rule, the people were constantly told it’s about the society, it’s not about you. It’s about the good of the society, but what really came out of that was that the people had no power and the government had all the power. The opinion, the ruling opinion is the opinion of the ruler, and we were not at freedom to question this opinion.
On We For Humanity and what its purpose is…
We are Messengers for humanity. We might be few, but we are allowed to speak up about the parallels between what happened then and what is happening right now. Not many people know, for example, that the Nazis started their Holocaust by explaining the need to protect public health and they blamed Jewish people for spreading infectious sickness. This was the reason why it was justified to exclude Jewish, to persecute them and then to remove them. It was also justified to do medical experiments on them and not just on them.
On why we need to understand the parallels…
What happened in Armenia was a holocaust. You have so many holocausts. We have to talk about it. There is also a reason to talk about the very one Holocaust which happened 80 years ago. It was fulfilled part of it, by the doctors…if medicine and science and economy and education and culture and media do not do that which is their duty but rather submit to the rules of executive political forces and submit to the greed for money, this is exactly what happened then and this is a provable parallel right now.
On 80 years ago and the persecutions now…
Some Jews knew what was happening. They left countries, they left their city, they went into hiding in other states. My grandma ran, she had eight siblings and one of her brothers, his name was Lahser said, “I don’t want to believe it, Germans would never, ever kill people. Not at all.” And he stayed back. And they hang him. This is just an example. Sometimes it’s better to just to run and it is always better not to comply. And the point is, if the majority do not comply, then there was no need for the minority to hide and to run.
